Youth, happiness and joy
Melted away with time
When the man that was the boy
Forgot me, became a stranger.

Business became mistress
love became pain
the chasm between us
Became deeper wider.

Cracked wide open
along with my bleeding heart
it is gone now melted
away in the heat of indifference.

My heart is one that needs love
tenderness, kindness and hope
yours needs ledgers and machines
that grind away at your soul.

So I move on now with pride
I tried.
But our love disappeared
Melted like metal in a vat.
